REPORT: U.S. Tax Dollars Funded a Chinese Weed Farm
A Chinese Communist Party intelligence official is reportedly the head of a U.S. taxpayer-funded marijuana factory.
Police seized over 15,000 marijuana plants from the California facility and arrested 14 people, including eight Chinese nationals, during a 2022 raid. The venue’s operation involved “violence,” “cruelty,” and witness intimidation, according to the criminal complaint. China-based manufacturer American Quartz Inc. owns the site, and its owner, Hu Qiaomin, has held numerous positions within the Chinese government. The company routinely makes efforts to influence American lawmakers, according to the Daily Caller News Foundation.
One of those efforts allegedly involved California’s treasurer, Fiona Ma. Hu developed a relationship with Ma while working for the CCP, which filings show led to his company receiving millions in taxpayer dollars. We do not understand why Chinese entities are allowed to own property in the United States in the first place.
