“Better Than Sex”: Senate Passes Bill to Lower Out-of-Control Housing Costs
Owning a home is a core component of the American Dream. The Senate on Monday passed legislation to make it easier.
The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act aims to increase the U.S. housing supply by expanding loans to build homes and curbing Wall Street’s ownership of single-family residences. It piggybacks Donald Trump’s executive order aimed at stopping institutional investors like Blackstone from sucking up residential properties and pricing hard-working Americans out of the housing market. “People live in homes, not corporations,” the president wrote on Truth Social weeks before signing the executive order.
Elizabeth Warren has called the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act “the biggest housing bill in more than 30 years.” John Kennedy says it is “better than sex.” Considering the average age of a first-time U.S. homebuyer is 40, we hope they are right. The government should not hesitate to regulate the free market when it shafts regular citizens.
