Kash Patel’s first full month as FBI director was a record breaker, with a flood of over 5,500 new agent applications pouring into the bureau. That figure is nearly double the monthly average since 2016.

"Director Patel and Deputy Director Bongino have put a major emphasis on restoring confidence in federal law enforcement and boosting new agent recruiting," a spokesman said on Wednesday. "These record early returns certainly suggest the new FBI is heading in the right direction."  

It would be hard to attribute the applicant spike to anything other than Washington’s leadership change. The monthly application averages in the last two years of Joe Biden’s term were 2,797 and 3,383, respectively. 

Turns out Americans would rather work for an FBI that focuses on arresting cartel leaders than one that rummages through Melania Trump’s underwear drawer. Who could’ve thought?
