Israeli Official Charged with Child Sex Crime, Allowed to Return to Israel Rather than Face Justice
Nevada police recently arrested a top Israeli government cybersecurity official on felony charges of sexually preying on children. State law says such a crime can carry between one and 10 years in prison, but the FBI is making an exception. It already let the man flee to Israel.
“A joint operation by Las Vegas police and the FBI over the past two weeks led to the arrest of eight suspects, including [Tom Artiom] Alexandrovich, 38, from Israel,” The Jerusalem Post reported on Saturday. “After questioning, Alexandrovich returned to Israel and was placed on leave from the directorate.”
Benjamin Netanyahu’s office released a statement over the weekend denying the arrest’s existence, claiming Alexandrovich “was not arrested” despite a law enforcement press release showing otherwise.
What is going on here? Why would the United States allow a foreign government official charged with a child sex crime to avoid prosecution? And why would the Netanyahu government appear to try to cover it up?
