The Justice Department on Monday unsealed a court document revealing that Donald Trump called the police on Jeffrey Epstein in 2006.

The document reports that the president called then-Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter to thank him for investigating the “disgusting” sex criminal, as well as his “evil” partner, Ghislaine Maxwell. Trump was “one of the very first people to call” the police when word spread that Epstein was under investigation. The file came to light hours after Maxwell offered to exonerate Trump in exchange for clemency.

The idea that Trump is a secret pedophile has always struck us as the least probable explanation for the push to keep the Epstein files hidden. We know the president, and he’s never struck us as that kind of guy. Being into kids just isn’t his thing. More importantly, if the government had proof of Trump committing child sex crimes, there’s no chance the Biden administration would have kept it hidden. Democrats did everything they could to throw Trump behind bars. They never would have let him off the hook for getting involved in the Epstein trafficking ring.
