Key Senators Back Tulsi Gabbard
The Senate rejecting Tulsi Gabbard’s DNI nomination would be a grave injustice. It would also prove who really runs Washington. The establishment hates Gabbard because she’s supported Edward Snowden, an American hero, arguing that he should not spend his life in a cell for exposing the government’s liberty-crushing domestic spying operations.
Those in Gabbard’s corner received some good news on Monday. Senators Lisa Murkowski and Bill Cassidy, who had both been on the fence, announced their plans to back the nominee when the vote reaches the Senate floor.
Murkowski has not supported all of Donald Trump’s nominees. She voted against Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense last month.
Gabbard’s ascension to the president’s cabinet now looks likely. The Senate voted to advance her nomination on Monday, clearing the path for a smooth confirmation.
