If you’ve read about Monday’s Rhode Island shooting, you know that perpetrator Robert Dorgan was seriously unwell. People like the dress-wearing, fake-boob-flaunting, middle-aged man need help, and Western society’s insistence on affirming their troubles rather than solving them is one of this generation’s great travesties. 

A new detail of Dorgan’s derangement emerged this week: his ex-wife, whom he murdered, was his cousin. 

Revelations unearthed by the Providence Journal on Tuesday show that the couple were first cousins once removed and already shared a last name before getting married. To summarize the family tree, the wife’s grandfather is the husband’s uncle.

America is a free country, meaning the government allows its citizens to let their freak flags fly. Dorgan clearly capitalized on the opportunity. Before piling on too hard, it’s worth remembering that the 56-year-old divorcee was obviously enormously troubled. No one ends their marriage because they want to switch sexes if things are going well. We hope others in his position find God rather than going off the deep end.
