Canadian Prime Minister and infamous blackface wearer Justin Trudeau is reportedly “ready to resign” and is expected to make his announcement early this week.

Canadian media first reported the news on Sunday night, citing numerous sources familiar with the situation and noting that the resignation could come at any point between Wednesday’s scheduled national caucus meeting and today.

Trudeau first assumed his office in 2015 and was once thought to personify the future of Western politics. But things have not gone according to plan. Major initiatives like authoritarian COVID mandates, making it easier for people to kill themselves, gun bans, and a carbon tax have led to the prime minister’s approval rating slipping into the twenties, considerably lower than even Joe Biden’s.

Trudeau is a major reason his country could soon face enormous tariffs from the Trump administration. Whether the president-elect is still interested in naming him governor if Canada becomes the 51st state is unknown.
