Would you accept $100,000 to move to a new country? The good people of Greenland may soon receive the opportunity. 

The Trump administration is reportedly considering offering Greenlanders up to six figures to secede from Denmark and potentially join the United States, believing the move could help convince Danish leaders to sell the territory to America. 

Despite Copenhagen politicians’ steadfast opposition to the White House’s expansionist ambitions, the administration continues to promote its big, beautiful vision of Greenland turning red, white, and blue. Marco Rubio on Wednesday reaffirmed that the president longs to purchase the polar landmass.

It’s not entirely clear where Greenland’s residents stand on this issue, but some appear tired of their Danish overlords. Members of the island’s centrist-populist Naleraq Party reportedly view 2026 as their “window of opportunity” to break away from Denmark and claim independence. Down with the tyrants.
