House Republicans rejected an amendment demanding the government release all Jeffrey Epstein files on Monday, with every GOP member of the House Rules Committee except Ralph Norman and Chip Roy opposing the proposal. Norman supported the measure. Roy did not vote.

Congressman Ro Khanna introduced the amendment, painting the vote as an opportunity for the public to learn who their lawmakers really represent.

“This is a question of whose side are you on?” Khanna said while urging his fellow legislators not to protect Epstein’s child rape ring. “Are you on the side of protecting the rich and the powerful who put their thumb on the scales of government to suck out millions of dollars while working-class Americans suffer? Or are you on the side of the people?”
