Could Barack Obama face prosecution?

According to Tulsi Gabbard, the Trump administration has evidence to bring charges against the 44th president for his administration’s assessment of Russia’s purported 2016 election interference. She says Obama officials “manufactured and politicized intelligence to lay the groundwork” for the FBI’s investigation into Donald Trump’s “Russian ties.”

"The implications of this are frankly nothing short of historic," the national intelligence chief said during a Sunday interview. “Over 100 documents that we released on Friday really detail and provide evidence of how this treasonous conspiracy was directed by President Obama just weeks before he was due to leave office after President Trump had already gotten elected… This is an issue that is so serious it should concern every single American because it has to do with the integrity of our democratic republic.”

The documents claim that before the 2016 election, there was no evidence showing Russia tried to directly alter vote counts. Those claims only arose after Trump’s victory, and Gabbard argues the narrative shift was politically motivated rather than based on new findings.
