The Iran War is one of the least popular military campaigns in U.S. history. Poll after poll has made this clear, and support from even the most diehard Republicans is plummeting.

Donald Trump has not accepted this reality. The president insisted on Wednesday that Americans “aren’t against” his globalist conflict, claiming that “a poll just came out” that shows the public is happy that the U.S. military is fighting Israel’s war for them. He did not specify what purported poll he was referencing.

How is it possible for the leader of the United States to grow this out of touch with the desires of his citizens? In this case, the answer is simple. Trump routinely watches Fox News, which is among America’s most committed pro-war propaganda machines. Anyone who consumes the network’s material as much as he does will naturally grow hypnotized into believing that war is great. Spreading that evil message is Fox’s primary reason for existence. Why else would it employ Sean Hannity and Mark Levin?
