Donald Trump isn’t buying Benjamin Netanyahu’s claim that there’s no starvation in Gaza. 

“I mean, some of those kids are — that’s real starvation stuff,” the president said on Monday. “I see it, and you can’t fake that.”

What happens next will be a telling indicator of the nature of Trump’s relationship with America’s “special ally.” Typically, the Israeli government would mindlessly label anyone who criticizes them an antisemite and demand their expulsion from civilized society. But would they dare do that to Trump?

From the American perspective, the president has recognized that our country’s biggest welfare recipient is using U.S. taxdollars to starve civilians. Could this lead to increased demands to cut off the money?
