TRUMP: Iran Deal Is Done, “Let the Oil Flow!”
The U.S. and Iran have reached a deal to end the war.
Donald Trump announced the agreement’s completion on Sunday, writing on Truth Social that America’s military will end its naval blockade and the Strait of Hormuz will fully open upon the pact’s finalization this week. The president and JD Vance may both travel to Switzerland for Friday’s scheduled signing ceremony.
The deal, which Iran's Supreme National Security Council confirmed, comes in the form of a memorandum of understanding rather than a treaty. Broader talks between the two nations will take place during a 60-day ceasefire period. They will cover the specificity of Iran’s commitment to not obtaining a nuclear weapon and the sanctions relief Tehran will receive in return. It is unclear what will happen if the negotiations fall through. We hope it does not come to that.
