Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele announced his country’s acceptance of hundreds of Venezuelan gang members who were illegally living in the United States on Sunday, releasing jaw-dropping footage of their arrival and celebrating the development as a win for public safety.

Donald Trump invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, which allows the deportation of natives and citizens of an enemy nation without a hearing, made the move possible. He thanked Bukele on social media for accepting the criminals, whom he referred to as "the monsters sent into our Country by Crooked Joe Biden and the Radical Left Democrats."

The deportation count totaled over 260, including 21 Salvadoran MS-13 gang members and two ringleaders. The rap sheets for those removed included kidnapping, sexual abuse of a child, aggravated assault, prostitution, robbery, and aggravated assault of a police officer. 

Bukele’s video represents a complete 180 from the previous administration’s agenda. Gone are the days of waking up to secret, late-night footage of the government flying illegal immigrants into the United States. Common sense is here.
