Donald Trump promised on Monday that his address to Congress would be “BIG.” He followed through and then some, delivering an hour and 40-minute speech, the longest of its kind in at least six decades.

The president opened in his usual optimistic manner, declaring “America is back” and “the golden age of America has only just begun.”

"We are going to create the highest quality of life, build the highest quality of life, build the safest and wealthiest and healthiest and most vital communities anywhere in the world," he said, followed by promises to “lead humanity into space” and “plant the American flag on the planet Mars.”

Trump also outlined a wide array of domestic policy goals, calling on Congress to "pass tax cuts for everybody," pass a law requiring a mandatory death penalty for police killers, ban and criminalize sex changes on children, and plenty more. Democrats rarely cheered.
