Donald Trump announced his nomination of Dr. Casey Means for Surgeon General on Wednesday. She replaces the previous nominee, Dr. Janette Nesheiwat.

“Casey has impeccable ‘MAHA’ credentials, and will work closely with our wonderful Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., to ensure a successful implementation of our Agenda in order to reverse the Chronic Disease Epidemic, and ensure Great Health, in the future, for ALL Americans,” the president wrote in his announcement.

Means and her brother Calley are among the Make America Healthy Again movement’s most outspoken advocates and have become close allies with RFK Jr. She earned her MD from Stanford Medical School in 2014 but has criticized the institution for teaching “virtually nothing… about the tens of thousands of scientific papers that elucidate the root causes of why American health is plummeting.”
