Erika Kirk predicted that her husband’s voice “will ring out louder and more clearly than ever, and his wisdom will endure” following his death. Those words are proving prophetic.

Turning Point USA has seen a massive surge in inquiries for new college chapters in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, receiving over 54,000 requests from across the country. The organization currently has 900 official college chapters and roughly 1,200 high school groups. TPUSA has also experienced a sharp increase in job and volunteer applications.

Charlie’s killer wanted to shut down his views and eliminate his influence. These numbers show the opposite has happened. The conservative activist’s soaring posthumous popularity proves that, on top of being evil, political violence is entirely impractical. It does not win over hearts and minds. The only way to defeat ideas you disagree with is by combating them with better ideas. Resorting to the kind of bloodshed we saw last week is the ultimate act of intellectual surrender.
