Anthony Fauci’s diary continued making headlines on Monday. It shows that the guidance he gave the public during COVID did not match what he learned and said in private conversations. 

The former NIAID chief privately admitted in a 2020 entry that many credentialed scientists suspected the pandemic likely stemmed from a lab leak. After a meeting with at least 11 global medical professionals from places like the University of Edinburgh’s Institute of Evolutionary Biology and the German Center for Infection Research, Fauci recorded that all but two of the experts believed the lab theory was very possible. He also wrote that he did not believe that the infamous Wuhan market was the source of the virus.

Did Fauci ever express this level of skepticism of the official COVID narrative in public? If so, we cannot remember it. Instead, he stood by as the establishment smeared Americans who did not buy the “wet market” story as conspiracy theorists and anti-Asian racists. His Senate testimony on Wednesday could get interesting.
